Mount Glorious Activities

Because of its proximity to Brisbane, Mt Glorious provides an ideal opportunity to partake in a variety of nature-oriented activities. If you wish to learn more about the rainforest there is the Rainforest Self Guiding Nature Walk at Maiala National Park. This is a short circuit with markers along the track that offer descriptive information about the area and species.

During the school holidays and on some weekends there are special ranger-led activities for both children and adults. Details of these activities are well advertised and can be obtained from the National Parks and Wildlife Service.

There are four national parks that form the Brisbane Forest Park, Maiala at Mt Glorious, Manorina and Boombana are back closer to Mt Nebo as well as a small park at Jolly's Lookout which, along with other State Forest areas, provide one of the best places for recreation near Brisbane; there are more than 20 kilometers of walking tracks throughout the D'Aguilar Range National Parks.

Activities range from serious bush walking pursuits, to very casual family BBQ's in the rolling parkland at the Miala recreation area.

There are also several cafes to sample coffee and local fare; literally something for everyone!

The National Parks areas also offer BBQ's at Miala and farther down the range at the Wivenhoe Lookout. Further again West are the two reserves Red and White Cedar that also have great facilities.
